Here are some screenshots of the new cosmetic armor. As far as anyone can tell, the cosmetics are based upon the armor type and varies by race...so dragontouched plate armor will look the same as starter fullplate, icy raiment will look the same as outfit of stability, and so on.
In case you didn't know, Update 8 is currently being previewed on the Lamannia test server. We may not be able to get over there and test them on our mains thanks to the problems with Character Copy pointed out by Isilmerel.

The DDO Game Servers will be brought down on Wednesday, November 10th from 6:00 - 10:00 AM Eastern (-5 GMT) for an update to the game. Lamannia will remain up and available during the downtime. Release notes will be available Wednesday.

Apparently, the 2010 Broctober Video Contest didn't yield as many entries as Turbine had hoped for. The contest deadline has been extended to November 22.
